Algorithm of Life
A Indonesian guy talked to his friend "Did you know that in Mecca (Saudi Arabia) i met with a prostitute?"
His friend answered "Really? I did not find any in the New York?"
"No way, that's impossible" the guy giggled .
"Well, bro, we just found whatever we were searching for!"
It's a story of Buya Hamka. An Indonesian guy who was born in Dutch Colonization. He declared as one of national hero who was involved in a fight for Indonesian independency.
But i will not discuss about him, the guy who also a legendary writer.
I am talking about what he said that we only find what we are searching for.
In social media, like YouTube, Twitter, or Instagram, our home feed will display things based on whatever we liked, searched, viewed.
For the social media, they are using 'algorithm' to keep us active in their platform. Also one of their strategy and consideration to show ads.
Now let's reflect this algorithm in our personal life. Sometime we questioning our life "Why things happened the way they do?"
Well, the answer might be the people we met, the experiences we have been through. It's probably affected by the way we live our life.
The people we have been together with, the things we done in the past somehow affecting our current life.
Ever heard of butterfly effect? The butterfly effect is the idea that small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system.
Small step we take today might lead us to the greater future. If we surrounding ourselves with good people, trying to do good things, then the algorithm of life might lead us to the good things as well.
